Virtual Mobile Numbers (VMN) are mobile phone numbers that are not attached to any specific sim card or phone. Using VMNs can help make your business look more personal compared to just using a standard toll free number.
How do they work?
VMNs are numbers which exist within the network and are assigned to a particular user i.e. a business. The business can then decide how they want to deploy that number – either as their main number, for SMS messages or for individual staff numbers.
The VMN can then be re-routed to another number, allowing a business to make sure all calls are coming through. A business could have multiple VMNs, deployed in different ways if they wished.
What can they be used for?
VMNs can be used in a variety of ways by businesses:
If you have a sales team that is often on the road and uses their mobile phones as their primary source of contact, you can assign a VMN so each salesperson, with the calls routed from the VMN to their actual number. This allows you to keep your number even if a staff member, particularly a sales team member, leaves.
If you want your business to look more personal and not just have a standard toll free number as the main point of contact, you can assign a VMN as the main number, with all calls being routed to another mobile number or to a land line.
If you use SMS messages to communicate with clients, you can use a VMN as the source of your SMS messages.
VMN and call tracking
VMNs can be tracked in the same way that local toll free number can be tracked by the Delacon call tracking solution, including being integrated with our suite of software platforms omeprazole otc.
